The trend drink gin
Gin, the high-proof distillate made from juniper berries (Latin "juniperus," hence the English name "genever," forerunner of today's gin), has become a trendy spirit in recent decades. The most famous ambassador is the Queen Mum, who used to sip her glass in a distinguished manner. But also (almost) all normal mortals love gin, whether pure or in cocktails such as Martini, Negroni and of course as a long drink Gin Tonic. There are now several thousand varieties. In this workshop you will learn more about gin and distill your own juniper schnapps.
Distilling in a team
In small groups of five you will take your first steps in the art of distilling. The workshop begins in the herb garden. After the theoretical introduction, you'll get hands-on and create your own gin. During the distilling process you will get a lot of background knowledge about the popular spirit. With your own created London Dry Gin in your luggage, you can enjoy the high-proof experience again at home. Chin-chin!
The distiller
Your workshop leader has more than 30 years of experience as a product developer and distiller at the largest Swiss producer of spirits and soft drinks. Let this expert introduce you to the secrets of gin and the fascinating art of distilling.
